Main research interest

Since the beginning of my employment, I have been taking care about maintaining the microalgae strains in collection, their replanting and inoculation. My responsibility is also preparation of stock solutions and media for all running cultivations. Furthermore completion and sterilisation of photobioreactors for cultivation, as well as planting and growing of required cultures, including the following harvest – centrifugation and preparing of biomass for lyophilisation – are my duties. Moreover, I characterize the microalgae growth by measurement of cell numbers (Cell counter) and by fluorescence techniques such as LRC measurement by PAM-2500, OJIP curve measurement by AquaPen and POE measurement using Oxyrgaph+. During the cultivation I measure also nutrient consumption by IEC. I analyse also pigment content. Most recently I do the antimicrobial test against plant pathogen. I have been performing both the disc diffusion method and microdilution method during my bachelor and master study at the university. I also write the scientific and periodic reports for running projects and I also write scientific papers.
