Research interest and current research work
Since joining Algatech, I have been investigating the biogenesis and organization of photosynthetic complexes in cyanobacteria, with special emphasis on Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 (Straskova et al., 2018; Yu et al., 2018; Straskova et al., 2019). I use techniques such as generation of Synechocystis mutant strains, protein isolation, analysis of protein complexes based on two-dimensional PAGE separation, and confocal microscopy methods. I have recently returned from maternity leave and have renewed my focus on researching the proteins involved in the initial stages of photosystem II assembly and quality control.
